Korea and Germany are committed to the decarbonization of their economies, notably their energy systems. As advanced industrial economies, both countries face similar challenges in this regard. However, achieving Net Zero emissions also comes with many possible economic benefits. Therefore, the title of the 4th Korean-Germany Energy Day is “Net Zero: Embrace the opportunities of the Energy Transition”.
On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), we would like to announce that the 4th Korean-German Energy Day will take place on the 7th of December 2022 as a physical conference in Berlin.
The Korean-German Energy Day is part of the Korean-German Energy Partnership formed between the two ministries in December 2019. The event provides a platform for energy experts from government, industry, research and civil society to exchange views, engage with one another and learn from each other’s experiences.
Aligned with the event’s title this year’s Korean-German Energy Day will explore different opportunities of the energy transition against the backdrop of this challenging time of global energy insecurity that we are currently facing. After beginning with a session on economic opportunities of the energy transition, the conference will shift to a session on clean hydrogen for both economies on their way to Net Zero and will finally explore the role of the highly relevant topic of energy efficiency.
The language of the event is English. The main parts will be translated simultaneously between Korean / English.
